Yosemite Reinstall Broke Flux on Dual-GPU Mac
-
I've been a flux user for years and never had any trouble with it until today. I had to wipe my hard drive and do a fresh install of Yosemite today, and when I reinstalled Flux, it seems to be working great while on the Integrated graphics, but whenever the Mac switches to the NVIDIA card, I lose Flux. It won't even preview the Sunset or Bedtime colors.
I've been able to verify that the GPU is the problem with the gfxcardstatus app; changing between Integrated and Discrete changes the color temp of my screen.
I toggled flux's Color Profile code with the Terminal commands from this post, but nothing changed.
I'm on a 2010 15" Macbook Pro (6,2), running OS X 10.10.5. Flux version 36.5.
Any ideas?

@Miles-Cary Did you install the Nvidia drivers?

Well, this is odd. For an unrelated reason, I went back and ran the OS X Migration assistant, and I asked it to copy only the User files. Now it works just fine, like before the wipe/reinstall.
That doesn't really fix it if anyone else is having the same issue, but it works for me!

We saw a similar bug on our 2014 Macbook running 10.10.5.
For us, the NVIDIA drivers were loading color profiles totally wrong (a "washed out" look) in all cases.
Updating to 10.11 fixed this.
