Flux flashes
-
I'm now on windows 10 and just wanted to report that if I work on an evening, it suddenly out of nowhere starts flashing between flux and non flux every second. The only way to end it is to end flux and start again, think I have to do it twice!

Turn of Night Light in the Settings app. Open Start, type "night light", press Enter, disable it completely here. Then click or touch the Back arrow on the upper-left corner of the window and make sure Night Light is Off here as well.

I have been having the same problem on an HP Envy M7 Laptop (M7-u009dx) running Windows 10 Pro (Version 1903 - Insider Preview Build 18356.16 on Slow Ring). I used this possible solution and the flashing continues.
Prior to this I tried:
1st) updating to the latest DisplayLink Drivers (9.10)
2nd) reinstalling f.lux 4.97 -
@breezewood Just to be sure: you definitely use a displaylink device? (USB-connected?)
-
Two things:
- 18362 is somewhat better.
- We noticed some regressions in these insider builds (like they turned off some of the "new" code) so we had to re-enable some of our workarounds from Fall Creator's update.
- It's hopefully all fixed in the f.lux 4.99 beta.
- Hoping our updater supports 4.100 when we get there - I think so. :)

@furryclure This happens to me too, about 7:30 p.m., also on Windows 10...same solution.

@herf Yes, I do use a DisplayLink Device. I have a Sentio Superbook that I connect from time to time as a second screen...

I installed 4.99 and it seems to have settled down and is working as expected...
