Word automatically blocks f.lux

Hello,
The F.lux app automatically deactivates when I open a Word (or any Office app) document. I can't find a way to reactivate it because even the f.lux logo that is usually located on the toolbar on top of the screen disappears as soon as I open the Word document, so I can't access the preferences.
Has anyone found a way to cope with this issue?

It sounds like f.lux is crashing?
Can you look in Console for any f.lux crashes?
