Should latitude actually be used by f.lux?

I love f.lux, but I've stopped using the location feature a long time ago. It started when I was living far north and the days could be very short or very long depending on the year. In those cases, having the latitude in f.lux made it almost unusable. If there is only 2 hours of daylight, I don't need "help" getting tired early. Similarly, if the day is really long, I'd prefer f.lux to give me some red light in the evening even though there's a blue sky. I live further south now, but still like my ideal day length instead of tying it to the season.
Am I the only one feeling this way? Is there any research suggesting that it should follow the sunrise/sunset rather than an "ideal" day length? The f.lux interface certainly seems to think it should know the latitude—if you don't enter it (which I don't), you'll get asked on every launch.

@johanness certainly a pretty extrem example, having only 2 hours of sunlight, anyway a very good one. I usually work with a customer in US living in germany which shifts my office time about 5 hours... actually there are many research works indicating the "humans individuality" when it comes to bio-rhytm and so a need of individualy lightspectrum cycles. (hash)tags to search for are: chronotypes, chronobiology; researches big in that field (in europe) are:roenneburg, cajochen and more. unfortunatelly I just have works in german language, however especially roenneburgs works and website indicating he's wworking all over europe and that's of course in english...
I get the point from f.lux working with latitude. I work in the field inbetween technical designs of lighting and designing interfaces and lights - it's not easy to design interfaces making senseful lighting and keep it handy for users...

And yes, the example is extreme, but I think that makes it clear that there is a least a limit to how much you want to take natural daylight into account.

@lorna Thanks. I'm actually on the latest (37.7). I didn't realize that I could set the location and still have custom colors. So I had to click confirm on "yes, I'm aware that my location is not set" every time I closed preferences.

@lorna So do you have beta builds of 37.7 somewhere? Or something like a good time table for a latitude where it gets dark at 21ish all tear?
Because 3.10 is latest Windows, and has been for what... 3 years now?
