Amazon echo "skills" search: sleep, 0 hits

The amazon echo has no programs or skills to help with sleep. I guess no one has considered the idea yet.

There are recipes you can use on the IFTTT website to help with sleep, but no, you're right, there are no Amazon Echo Skills to date for sleep. Check out www.IFTTT.com, though. I use an Amazon Echo with IFTTT and the Philips Hue color and white bulbs in combination with F.lux. Between all of them I'm very happy with my setup. Hopefully, though, one day I can just use F.lux with the Echo.

@Sleepy Cool I don't use IFTTT often so didn't think of that.
I would like to know how the "white" hue bulbs compare to the color bulbs in terms of color temperature reproduction. Do the white lights do a better job of warm yellow and cool white or is it about the same?

I don't know. I bought the more expensive Philips Hue white and color 9W E26 starter kit, which only comes with the "color" bulbs. Their website does list the color bulb's specifications for lumen output and light output, if you understand technical info.
Lumen outputs are: 800 lm @ 4000K, 570 lm @ 2700K, 342 lm @ 2000K, 550 lm @ 6500K, 80 lm/W luminous efficacy @4000K, >80 CRI from 2000–4000K. Light output: Functional white light, 16 million colours, all shades of white, from warm to cold color temperatures: CCT range 2000-6500K.

Are you able to test the "white" bulbs and the "color" bulbs at the same time?

I haven't had a chance to experiment with the bulbs, but you can program each individual bulb separately or all of them together as a group. Remember, though, all the bulbs that come with the more expensive starter kit are color bulbs. None of them are just white. In other words, they're called white and color because each individual bulb is capable of producing white light or color light.
Now to answer your question, it is possible to program one bulb to be the color of "cool white" and another bulb the color of "warm yellow" and compare the two at the same time, but I think your question would best be answered by Philips directly. They know more about their product than I do and I wouldn't want to steer you incorrectly based on my opinion of what does a better job.
