F.lux is still destroying my eyes when using VLC mp3s

So not just when playing movies F.lux keeps bringing my screen back to super bright. But also when playing mp3s which makes no sense whatsoever. I dont even mind playing actual movies with vlc while f.lux is running and dimming the screen because I like the warmer colors in movies.
Why would f.lux have so many options but no way to simply have f.lux constantly enabled? Like i can just switch brightness by using FN keys on my notebook if needed.
Should I just change app or am i doing something wrong?

@fluxr0x I would check first that "disable for app" is not turned on for VLC.
Otherwise it may be turning on a discrete GPU in your machine that resets the color settings, and the usual fix for that is to update all the video drivers. You can post f.lux options > driver info if you would like us to look.
