Way too intense color shift on wide gammut Dell/PC monitor (Win10)
-
Couldn't find any wide gamut discussion using forum search, tho was lead back to the forum using google-fu, and seems only the mac version has wide gamut discussion going, and not applicable to my case. So here goes...
Several months back, upgraded to a Dell PC with wide gamut monitor. Running 3 external displays via USB C/Thunderbolt docking station. Have installed color profiles from manufacturer for all displays.
However, color on laptop's wide gamut monitor is so darkened as to be quite hard to use. And if I lighten it, the other 3 monitors are blaring.
This picture was shortly after f.lux engaged, so isn't even hitting full f.lux yet:
So far all I've come up with is to Disable that monitor via f.lux, and enable Windows built in night light, which seems to co-exist peacefully enough w/ f.lux (which is far superior) on the 3 external "regular" displays.
Wondering if their might be a better way that I am missing; perhaps per monitor adjustment of color?
I have tried a couple of the Tuning options. "Use display data for better color accuracy" did improve the situation. Always use Windows internal color table seems to disable f.lux completely, which must not be right, as why run f.lux then? Or maybe some use it just control external lighting. I sadly of GE smart bulbs, so not supported :(
And I do understand that the whole point of wide gamut monitor means that getting an exact match w/ regular monitors won't happen. But when f.lux is not running, I have to look attentively for the difference between monitors. Once f.lux fires, the difference is...well glaring isn't quite right, but :)
So to summarize; is there a registry/ini setting not exposed directly in the UI where I might target f.lux intensity/color per monitor?

Just discovered: disabling Windows HD Color option returns this to proper f.lux color, i.e. virtually the same as the other 3 monitors.
