Very dark screens when using older DisplayLink adapter (GPU emulation issue?)

Hey there, I've been a happy f.lux user for a few years now :)

I recently hooked up a third monitor to my laptop using an older DisplayLink adapter. Since then f.lux behaves differently: when f.lux is enabled the three screens are dimmed quite a lot. They are way darker then they used to be. The cursor is a bright white though (the "Software mouse cursor" setting fixes this).

I guess the cause might be that f.lux switched to GPU emulation mode as stated in the F.A.Q. in order to work with my older DisplayLink adapter?

I tried installing the latest DisplayLink driver and configured the "EnableGammaRamp"setting in the registry. Afterwards f.lux was back to normal on my 2 directly connected screens and the "Software mouse cursor" setting wasn't needed anymore. But now f.lux wouldn't work on the DisplayLink screen. Setting "EnableGammaRamp" to false reverts this and all 3 screens are very dark again.

When I disconnect the DisplayLink adapter everything works fine again.

Is there anything I can do about this issue?
