f.lux Kills both displays when plugging in Thunderbolt 3 HDMI display

I use a Lenovo 720 and it only has a Thunderbolt 3 out for display. For the longest time, whenever I'd try to plug in the display, the screen flickers a few times, then both go black. The only way to resurrect the display is to unplug the external monitor and try again. It will continue until one of two things happens, 1) I close f.lux, or 2) f.lux crashes. When I disable f.lux and try to plug in the second display, it works flawlessly. Just figured I'd let you guys know. Let me know if you need any log files.
