Feature Request: active window retains colour in B&W mode (or per-app colour toggle)

Had a quick look, couldn't see this addressed in the forums.
I read some papers that make use of colour in diagrams. So, as much as I like my UI elements & background being in B&W, I have to keep turning the feature off.
Potential solutions to this might be as suggested in the title. Is this possible?
