Bedtime and wake time

I am one of those people who does not sleep an average of 8 hours. In order to get the light to dim when I want it to, I have to set my wake time way different than it actually is. It's not that big of a deal to change the wake time but it means that I can't take advantage of the backwards alarm clock, and it's more difficult for me to figure out when to set the wake time to get the effect I need.
Would it be possible to add a setting that allows you to input your average sleep time in order to more precisely customize the day/night cycle? Thanks!
