Smooth transition times

Hi, recently got a new computer and the version of f.lux is different. I preferred the old version which had smooth transition times (like a sine wave) but this version has plateaus then much faster transitions. I know there is an option to change to "slow" transitions but it is still very noticeable to me. Is there a way to get the sine curve back?

The "classic f.lux" setting has doesn't seem to have the same gentle transition.
