UWP f.lux
-
@TwoCables I know that, I'm just saying that the update system from the executable might've been carried over when it was converted, and the UWP trying to download the executable's update might break it. But the f.lux developers probably removed the code for the update system after the conversion and accidentally left the "install updates automatically" option.
Yeah, Lorna said it's disabled.

Hello,
just a quick question and possibly a bug report :)
Is there a way to disable the notification when entering a fullscreen app? I enabled "Disable for fullscreen apps" because I don't want the dim when watching movies. Unfortunately I get that notification everyday.
I tried to disable notifications for f.lux in the notification settings of Windows 10 itself. But it seems to get reenabled as soon as the next notification is displayed. This is probably a bug I guess?
Thanks for any help ;)
//edit: Well, also found out that I can't really disable the bedtime thingy and constantly had to change the time to make it work. Hope there will be a switch to disable in later betas. I'm back to v3.12 for now.

@Tungsten_smooth Funny bit of f.lux trivia that most people don't know: An Apple executive told us to make a jailbreak version, back in 2009, see if we could demonstrate the demand. So that's actually why we did it... Turns out there was some demand I guess.
-
@lorna WOW! Now that's ... shocking. I hope they add in your options, and naming scheme for the colors. It's just not the same without all the information about sleep on the program. I'm glad they asked you to make it, but to then take away what makes your program easy to use and understand just seems rude and uncaring. Ah well, looking forward to other mobile platform updates...
I have a feature on my phone that is almost like f.lux, but it's too yellow, and just looks very strange because I know it's not right, I could filter it with other apps but I'm thinking of just rooting my phone if possible. It would be so much nicer to have deeper orange options and a transition too, this one just jumps to the setting.
-
@Tungsten_smooth I can't say I agree with you there - I hope they ultimately do the right thing and allow f.lux into the app store. There is a lot of research and hard work that needs to be done, not the kind of thing you can just copy....
-
sir, can you give a button to restore a default settings
-
@helloabhishek Choose "recommended settings" in preferences to return to defaults for all versions of f.lux.
-
@lorna thanks
-
@lorna A new update for f.lux came out. Can you update it for the UWP as well? Thanks!

@TwoCables Microsoft doesn't control the updates. The developers of an app would release an update, and it would be checked then released. I don't know if that's what you meant, but if you were talking about Microsoft being the one releasing the updates for the f.lux UWP, then that's incorrect.
-
@HTV04 I know the checking process might take a while too, so if they did release it to the UWP version, then it's probably still being checked right now. I was just asking if they released it for the UWP.
-
We will release very soon - thanks for bearing with. Minor updates.

What? I know how it works. lol Did you really think that I believe that Microsoft is the one creating updates for the UWP f.lux? I'm not stupid! Come on, man. Why would you think that I was saying that? As I said, Lorna and Michael can't control when Microsoft rolls out the updates that they give to Microsoft. I would bet they gave Microsoft their update as soon as they finished it. Obviously they haven't yet since Lorna just said they will soon, but STILL. Even if they had given Microsoft their new version, I think it's still not going to be an instantaneous update.

So version 4.33 never made it to Windows Store, and now 4.34 is out, but Windows Store version is still 4.32.
So it seems to me it's better to uninstall the Windows Store version and get the updates directly from website. Or is this going to get fixed any time soon?

If you want to stay extremely current with the Beta versions, then probably so. However, they will not be updating anywhere near this frequently once they finalize this version.
Also, as you can see from the update page, it says "These pages are popping up too early for Windows App Store users. Sorry, we’re working on a fix!"

Sorry, I totally missed that! It's good information to know! I will probably just stick to Windows App in this case since developers know about the issue :-)
Thank you for the very quick reply!
