Disable f.lux clock, full manual control, greyscale hotkey toggle
-
Hello f.lux team
Per the many requests that exist for this subject I too would like to second a feature request to disable the f.lux clock and allow for manual control.
I understand the circadian clock and the natural production of melatonin, I do not dispute the science in any way. But the reality of how the industrialised world operates is that there are a sizable amount of people that as a matter of job requirements engage in shift work that do not have constant set schedules. This feels like an issue of dogma getting in the way of the reality that f.lux as an app is equally used by others for productivity as much as it is for regulating screen usage vis-a-vis one's clock cycle, even if the creators have a particular and specific use function for this application. Effectively the app has evolved via the userbase to something greater than for which it was initially designed.
Speaking for myself I'm a designer that appreciates the ability to see things in different K-levels to note how estimate how colour objects on the monitor may appear differently.
For the above feature request there needs to be manual controls for both colour (K) and brightness/dimming and ideally a toggle for the grayscale mode. When manual control is enabled (via a checkbox) ALT+HOME/ALT+END serves as a toggle for colour where ALT+PG/ALT+PGDN continues to serve as the current brightness/black level.
Finally an ALT+INS would be nice to enable and disable greyscale mode.
Please implement this feature...I think a quarter of the forum posts can be marked as solved afterwards :) thank you
