Unwanted screen diming whilst dark-mode applications are selected.

I've narrowed the cause down to f.lux.
When I'm tabbing between applications, I notice that the screen almost instantly significantly dims while in a dark-mode application, then slowly comes back to my desired brightness when I return to my desktop, or a more lightly colored application.
Why is this a feature,? Who would want their dark-mode apps even more dark? How do I turn this off?

@PingableUsername this is almost certainly Intel's DPST and not f.lux. See if your manufacturer provides a way to disable it.
We sometimes do disable it because it interacts badly with our more extreme settings, but we do not enable it.
