Totally random Chromatic shifting. Might not be (entirely) f.lux's fault...

Some people apparently get an orange tint on their screenshots. I've been getting something worse since months. See screenshots. Firefox will load some pictures just fine, some others get changed into something completely weird for no reason. Some bigger pictures load to 99% just fine and the final bit turns them into a mess. Both jpgs and pngs can be affected.
Un/Reinstalling won't work. I'm not even sure it's flux, but given that it does affect Firefox, with the "Use darmode at sunset" feature for example, something might have happened during an update or something. Disabling or unticking options won't help. The same firefox profile works if I log-in to a different windows user and launch a copy of it there. Updating ff didn't fix it. This page loaded just fine, unlike the ones I screenshoted and attached here.
Any ideas on how to fix this without abandoning the windows user profile?
White background will turn into fuchsia sometimes. This page loaded just fine. Questions?
Any suggestions appreciated.

Also, that wikipedia page loads just fine now too. That was an older screenshot. A flickr search right now though, will give me a mix of perfectly rendered pictures and fuschia-green abstract nonsense. I don't get how parts of this problem can fix itself over time...

@herf That wasn't it.
I should have mentioned that the problem is worse in Brave, which I can't use at all. The whole window, not just the content or pictures is off. But copying the user profile to another windows user made that work over there. It's also affecting Vivaldi and Edge. Internet explorer is unaffected, maybe because I never use it.
All 3 "broken" browsers work initially and only shift color after they are "fully up". So I get to see the colors correctly for a second or two and then it shifts, as an "after thought". Even the scroll and address bars become purple.
Firefox healed over time, exhibiting the issue only when it comes to displaying some pictures and it's happening more and more rarely.

@chromaticshifting the debug notes also say it is using the "internal ramp" - can you choose the f.lux menu option "expand color range" + reboot and see if this helps?

@herf Done. Didn't work.
I could also update windows, but i'd rather not. It's also an issue related to a certain event (maybe an update) while using a certain windows-user-profile. It's not system wide.

@herf Given that you've mentioned "color range", I've gone ahead and played around in display settings and color management and not only. By some miracle, the issues are now gone. Except a few bookmarks icons that the browsers "snapshoted" incorrectly everything works.

@herf I'd gladly do so.., but win 10 settings is an endless rabbit hole in which I haven't been often enough to have a map of in my head. And... I've been places this time that I can't even find now.
So, my best bet is that I changed something by going to "calibrate display". If I'll ever reproduce the error I'll make an update.

I'll have to repeat the experiment because the problem is back out of the blue. Firefox is less affected, barely at all, but the other browsers are doing it again.What changed? I don't know. But f.lux had the opportunity to due it's magic over the night. The computer wasn't shut down/restarted.

@herf So I ran through the "Display colour calibration" wizard by clicking next, next, next and finish.
Everything works again...
F.lux dimmed my colours in the evening now and everything looks great. I disabled it. Still fine. I'm going to stop using it for a while (and switch to windows default "night light" instead) to see if the issue comes back independent of f.lux.

@herf the problem is not back yet. I'll leave f.lux on tonight to see what happens.
