Hello. Does F.lux drop fps in games?

We don't think so - f.lux does some work every time the foreground app changes but should not otherwise.

it definitely can drop fps when overlay is rendered with gpu acceleration, as gpu will be used when game engine renders each frame, increasing frametime.
Though this does not happen much, only with late-night color, which is anyway not really suitable for gaming.

CPU rendering is very cheap thought, and performance impact is virtually non-existent.

so, make sure you disable the following setting in f.lux :
"Use GPU for better quality with very warm colors"
might need to play with "software mouse cursor when needed" on/off, depending on your setup. as having that option checked may introduce input lag and change mouse sensitivity for the worse.

@SalmonSkin this should not apply to fullscreen games - it is only for the desktop. Also our default settings do not trigger this - it is really only for extremely warm colors.
