Snag-IT and Snipping captures are orange

I've read a few dozen posts about this, and tried everything I've found suggested so far. This used to work fine, until a couple of weeks ago. I have set it to disable for Snag-IT, it disables, but the screen turns back to orange again for the capture. If I then delete it, and take another, it's fine. Just that first one is orange.
I put in a ticket with TechSmith, they said there was nothing they could do about, suggested I open a ticket here.
