f.lux flickering my screen to yellow during the day
-
Hey there! I've been trying to find a solution for this but so far have had no luck.
f.lux is randomly turning my screen pale yellow for a second, during the day when it should be staying white. I do have a Spyder but apparently that shouldn't be causing problems. The only solutions I could find involved expanding the colour range, but there is no such option in version 4 (at least, not that I was able to find based on comparable screenshots of v3). Windows night light is disabled.
I thought it was Chrome-exclusive but it does it in Firefox as well. I don't know if it does it in night mode honestly because it drove me nuts yesterday (when I just installed it) and I disabled the program entirely until I could find a fix.
If there's any additional information you need I'll be happy to provide it.

Yes it is likely the Spyder - we recommend you let f.lux load the gamma table instead.

@herf How do I do that?

@lilyofthevalley our FAQ mentions this:
"If you use a Spyder, the software profile loader may cause f.lux to flash periodically. You can disable the Spyder software on startup, and use f.lux instead to load the profile. Also, when you're calibrating a display, you'll want to do the opposite and quit f.lux before you do."

@herf So I have to disable the Spyder and make having it be pointless? Basically choose between having a calibrated screen, or using f.lux? Just want to confirm, that makes it sound like I can't use both.

@lilyofthevalley no, f.lux is very good at loading spyder profiles. You just shouldn't have two programs doing the same thing.
