Way to disable wake-up time?
-
Is there a way to disable the wake-up time feature? I'd greatly prefer it if f.lux was locked to warming at sunset and cooling at sunrise (tied to changing sunrise/sunset times of course) instead of having this wake-up feature that locks it to the time rather than the sunrise/sunset. It seems like to get it to match sunrise/sunset I'd need to change the wake-up time every other week or so to account for changing sunrise/sunset times, which is really annoying.

I think all you have to do is set your nighttime and bedtime colors to be the same. There's a preset called "Classic f.lux", and it makes the night and bedtime colors the same, but using the preset means you have to use the preset's color temperatures.

I am debating a way to toggle off the wake time feature to simplify the UI - we really don't know a healthier schedule than this one, so we shouldn't make it hard to get to. ;)

Ok, this may help.
In the new beta (4.52), if you choose "Classic f.lux" we will disable all wake time features and only give you day and night scheduling.
Choosing another preset will reset this mode.

Very nice. I think there are people who will love this version. They will also still be able to fully customize their color temperatures in Classic f.lux mode without causing the wake-time option to come back.
Edit: I see that "Classic f.lux" gets added to the f.lux menu when it's enabled. However, disabling it from the menu leaves it selected in the Presets and it then disappears from the menu. I think it should always be in the menu. At least all you have to do is just click "Classic f.lux" again in the Presets even if it's showing as selected. Perhaps the option in the f.lux menu should be called "'Classic f.lux Mode". Or "Disable Wake-Time feature" - and it should never disappear from the menu. Having it disappear is confusing.

We don't want to over-promote a feature that pulls out a lot of functionality by default, but we want it to be there for people who need/prefer it.
I will see what people think and maybe put it in another place too.

I admit, I agree and I was thinking that before I said anything, but well, you know. :)
