You can see the line it follows, and behind that you can see the curve like the old flux. How do i get it to follow that curve over the new one. As the new one sets in a lot faster and i don't really like that.

Those curvy lines represent your most likely sensitivity to light at your current time. The bigger the darker area is, the more sensitive to light you should be. It is based upon your current wake up time setting.

If your transition speed is too fast, then change it in the f.lux menu. Go to Options (and Smart Lighting)... > How quickly should transitions happen? From that menu, choose one of the slower settings.

So there's isn't a way to make it more fluent like the old one.

I don't know what you mean. It's no different than v3 for me. It's every bit as fluid. Can you elaborate?

The old curve was a nice illustration of the sun, but f.lux didn't do fades that matched it at all. Mostly we did very fast fades, or 1-hour fades at the slowest.

In this version we're actually trying to track the important signals that the sun makes by season and other stuff like that, but we don't do it through the whole day.

You'd find if you measure the brightness of the sky that intensity and color are not a "smooth" curve but have a look somewhat like f.lux does, actually.

But I agree, the old graph was considerably better artwork. This is just more descriptive.

@nicolaj are you using the slow transition (options menu) or is this on startup or something like that?

When exactly are you seeing this? Please provide as much detail about what you're talking about as you can.

As I said, if your transition speed is too fast, then change it in the f.lux menu. Go to Options (and Smart Lighting)... > How quickly should transitions happen? From that menu, choose one of the slower settings.

Yes it's slow, i haven't changed the default. It's not during startup at late hours, it's just running normally and transitions seems shorter than before.

How much shorter? The slowest transition speed available should be an hour.

@nicolaj Actually I changed the curve a bit in 4.48 - it is more gradual actually. You can opt in to beta builds (about box) or https://justgetflux.com/flux-setup4.exe

@herf Already using the beta. I just feel the curve is too steep.
