I know that windows allows f.lux to keep active while having a colour filter
On MacOS though, turning on a grayscale colour filter from the accessibility settings makes the screen turn blue again

I came here to add my +1 to this feature… Even though it wouldn't figure out sunset and sunrise times, I was quite happy with having added two cron jobs that pointed to two shell scripts that pointed to two Shortcuts (quite convoluted, I know) that toggled colour filters on macOS, as a bit of a workaround for this shortcoming in f.lux, only to find out about this limitation.

I would much prefer for this to be an option in f.lux as well, as a lot of people who use it and Night Shift seem to be turning to greyscale mode as well. On the iPhone and on the iPad, they mostly use Night Shift, as sideloading f.lux hasn't been an option for years, but on the Mac, having the option to use f.lux, I reckon it would be quite popular as well. As a matter of fact, with alternative app stores and sideloading on the EU, maybe f.lux could come back to iOS and iPadOS?

I find that grayscale has a very positive effect for me. Being able to run it with f.lux would make night-time computer use much calmer. Also thank you for this wonderful software!

We do something like this for "darkroom mode" that could work (if we didn't invert the screen).

I came here because I have the same question. I'd like to have grayscale in accessibility > colour filters and at the same time night mode in f.lux.
I bet this worked when I was on intel mac few years ago but I havent found any solution on M1.
I have tried some BetterDisplay (controls DDC) which worked with greyscale but the red wasnt allright.
Does anybody know any solution? Any other app to handles greyscale together with f.lux?
Or maybe a feature inside f.lux that can switch to grayscale.
If someone asks why grayscale - tune f.lux to the lowest temperature (strong red) and check color palette around blue/purple/pink.. or check white font on red.. greyscale makes the color recognizable.
