I want to keep it on my computer and I mainly use it when I have a migraine and need to use the darkroom mode. It is tiresome to have to "disable till sunrise" every single day or time I start up my computer. The f.lux also slows down the start up of my computer. Don't get me wrong. I love the program. But am I missing the way to keep it off/disabled permanantly? Is there a round about way I can do so?
      Thanks.

Quit the app. When you want to use it, open your start menu and restart the app.

By the way, the impact on your computer's start time should be in the thousandths of a second, so if you're seeing a slowdown you might want to make sure your operating system and video drivers are updated.

I can show you how to make it never start with Windows, but it requires a change to the Registry (just one little change). It's actually very easy. Are you up to it though?

(and yes, f.lux shouldn't slow down any computer at all - it should be just the same as having something like Notepad or Calculator starting with Windows)
