f.lux with Android O
-
I was hoping the final release of Android O would clear this up but it doesn't seem to be the case. It does seem like turning off the adaptive brightness might help.
Is there anything I can do to help you diagnose the cause of these crashes?

I've Nexus 5x Android 8.0 and have the same problem "sudden reboot".
it's a great app idk why you guys don't update it!
i would pay for the app if there was a pro version.
please fix the problem, thx. -
I'm having the same issue with Android 8.0.0 on a Nexus 5X, build number OPR6.170623.013.
In my case it happens most frequently when trying to wake the phone up from sleep, and it's a soft reboot. The Android logo comes up for a short time, and when the launcher loads f.lux is still running (and colors are still adjusted). Shortly after unlocking the phone I'll get a toast that f.lux is starting and the colors will revert to standard then re-adjust.

i really need a blue tint remover so ive tried some after this problem occured with f.lux, cf lumen had the same problem as f.lux and even in my ex kernel manager app when i reduce the blue color from RGB graphic setting android OS still hang and reboot after a while.
so it might be a android/device side issue...can any of f.lux support stuff please investigate the issue and tell us what's the source of problem?

@Hamed, I suspect that it's related to the architecture changes in Android from project treble but I'm not certain.
I was able to flash a pixel mod to my 5x that enables night light which seems to work fine. To me that supports the idea that the functionality is there but maybe how it is implemented has changed in Android Oreo. Night light would have been updated for the pixel so it works with Oreo but f.lux hasn't been yet.

I am having this same issue on Nexus 6p, OPR6, the only modifications i have made are root and suhide
-
Reboots and freezes on Nexus 5x Android 8.0.0, using TWRP and SuperSU as only modifications
Any fix?

Hi all, I  your forum ;) This NodeBB software is really slick ;) ;)
Anyways, I tried installing f.lux from the play store, and it is causing some instability with my phone much like @mh0520 has detailed. At first, I wasn't sure if it was due to me rooting my phone, or other rooted apps, but it started when I installed f.lux, and stopped after I toggled the "Disable f.lux" option, so it seems like it's your app :(
It seems like the phone slows down and essentially locks up. It occurs right after a screen wake event, and onset is quite sudden. It is important to note that the screen is still usable, but you cannot see changes well.
e.g. If I hold the power button for a second, my phone will vibrate once and the "Shutdown / Reboot" screen will show. If I try to remember where the "reboot" button is, and where the "yes" button is (when it asks to confirm reboot), the phone will reboot just fine.

@julianlam use cf.lumen instead with KCAL driver, your kernel should support that driver.
