f.lux giving me error message when I try start, after a few days of no problem

Hello, I'm new to the forums and f.lux!
I installed f.lux on Ubuntu 14.04 as per this link: http://askubuntu.com/questions/493507/flux-for-ubuntu-14-04-possible
It worked fine for a few days, but then one day I booted my OS and the icon was gone, and in the evening f.lux didn't turn on. When I tried to start it in terminal with "fluxgui", I get this error message:fluxgui is already running, exiting
Exception AttributeError: AttributeError("'FluxGUI' object has no attribute 'xflux_controller'",) in <bound method FluxGUI.del of <main.FluxGUI object at 0x7f0779e06f10>> ignored
(Note the bold words actually have two underscores on either side)What is wrong, and how can I solve this?

Open ""startup applications" enter xflux for the name
Command: xflux -l 55:-55 -k 2700
Change -l to your lat:lon
