f.lux in games
-
Hi ,first to say I love this app so much it made my life so much better. The only issue I have with it is one game. I like to play Counter strike : Global offensive late at night with my friends and my screen is too bright even at lowest brightness. F.lux fixes it in all apps accept cs:go , there it just flat out doesn't work. Am I missing something here or they are just not compatible ?

I don't have that game, but you might be able to get it to work in borderless windowed.

Go to the game launch options and write this:

@TwoCables setting it in window fullscreen worked , thank you

Oh good. You're welcome!
I have found though that this doesn't work for all games, but it's certainly the first thing to try.

@TwoCables I would find it interesting that it doesn't work in damn near any program. My understanding is that it renders it with the same colors that are available to the desktop, I've never had it not work so far.

That's why borderless windowed mode works. It's a borderless window. Even so, some games (read: "3D applications') will override f.lux no matter what.

@TwoCables I can't remember exactly what, but I believe I've experienced colors being overridden in a windowed application, but not anytime recent.

Yeah, like I said, it's not a guarantee that f.lux won't be overridden.
