When I launch Dark Room my display goes all red
-
Oh lol :)
You might need to uninstall f.lux v3 first, reboot, and then install the beta fresh.
-
Moved to Windows support. Can you tell us more about your video card? Is there a driver update available?
-
I have this same issue. I'm using a Radeon r290. Whites become impossible to read rather than pleasant with darkroom on my Mac. There is only red with no black maybe? Also with this new beta if you have a color set and an effect set and go to disable no everything disables as I would expect.
-
I've got Sapphire TRI-X Radeon R9 290X OC 4GB, maybe it's problem with this card then.
-
@Hakej not same card 290 vs 290x but same family. Shame I really love it on my Mac.

Lorna: I have noticed that this problem always occurs with an AMD GPU (that is, if the problem is going to occur at all). I don't remember when I saw this problem reported the first time, but I know it was with f.lux v3.

I mean, isn't it supposed to be red? On my PC it's all red too, since version 3.

No, they are saying it's completely red; they can't see anything at all. It's not working correctly. What you're talking about is where all colors are reversed but instead of being in color, it's black and red. This is because it's to simulate looking at photo negatives in a dark room for photography. All these people are seeing though is pure red. They might see the hint of text or the hint of certain elements to things, but they really don't see anything but red. It's like the entire display was flooded with red paint.

I have also encountered the same issue. My entire screen (dual monitors) goes red with black pixels once the Dark Room feature is enabled, and I am left in a near-blind state to search for the exit f.lux option in order to revert the changes. One thing to note, which may help someone solve the issue, is that I downloaded the Beta and ran it before rebooting my PC. Dark Room worked before rebooting the machine, and after rebooting, it gave me issues and has ever since. Not sure if this is the case for anyone else.

Do you have an AMD GPU?
-
@TwoCables , yes AMD.

Yep, I thought so. It seems like this is only happening with AMD GPUs.
