What setting should I tell my PC monitor in its on-screen settings when using f.lux? In the on-screen monitor settings, Colour Adjust offers me 9300K, 6500K, 5400K or a manual RGB selection. Would I go for 9300K, then let f.lux scale it down from there, or should I select a 50-50-50 or 100-100-100 RGB setting for f.lux to modify?

I think 6500K would be best. That's the standard.

@TwoCables Thanks, that makes sense now I understand more. 6600 K is apparently the whitest, so 6500 K works out well.

Even though 6500K is the standard for monitors, you also have to take color accuracy into account. Some monitors have excellent color accuracy while others have absolutely horrible color accuracy. Of course, there's also the range in between these two extremes.

So, when you choose a color temperature in f.lux, realize that it's possible you're really not seeing that color temperature. So, the number is really more for your reference so that you know which settings you like the most. It doesn't mean that the actual color temperature you're getting is extremely different, but let's just say you wouldn't be able to say "oh, so that's what this color temperature looks like".
