can F-Lux implement such a function?
I know that F-Lux can alter display color temperature depending on time of day and global user position on Earth.
What I'm looking for is a program that can do the same based on light sensor data, I mean that outside in the sun, display have a high color temp, let's say 6500-7200 C and when I get into a dark room the display will not only decrease brightness like it always does but also change color temp to for example 3400 C. Blue light filtering like that is nice not only late at night before sleep but also while spending a lot of time indoors even during day.
Yes we have tried this, and it seems to require a lot of training (or a color sensor, which is the right solution). Sometimes you really don't want this to happen.
Which PC do you have that has an ambient light sensor? We have found most vendors do not even include one still.
Actually I was thinking about my Windows 10 tablet, it has a light sensor but it is a "no brand" so I can't really say which model number.
I think it would be even more useful for Android phones as they are more often moved from light to dark places.
Why would it require color sensor? Do you mean RGB sensor that can tell light intensity in each light wave frequency?
I think using simple light intensity sensor as is used in deciding screen brightness would be enough and it is present in most phones at least on Android side. I was not talking about matching screen color to ambient light color (though with rgb sensor that also should be possible) but simply screen color to ambient light intensity.
Say for 0 to 2 lux we use ember color, for 3 to 30 we use candle, 31 to 100 we use incandescent and so on....
I think that strategy may be even better then deciding on time and place on Earth and it could be used as alternative to current algorithm.
