Hello guys!
First of all, let me say that flux is one of the most supportive free-ware which can be really useful. You are doing the great job!
However, I want to point several things, that can make your product better:
-
I want to propose different concept of lighting. The thing is that now amount of 'red' is calculated by hours after\before sunshine. My proposition is to add mode, which can calculate amount of red, based on pc power stats. In other words, I mean that if PC is turned on since the afternoon till deep night it is reasonably to assume that person will sleep soon, that is why we need to add some red. Instead, it can decrease red color since sunrise time decreases.
-
Another useful one: I used to register here in order to write this message. It could be done faster if any support pop-up window was present. So, please think about it :)
-
Technical issue on the web: during facebook sign-up I saw a message which states that application is in testing mode. After redirect was completed in full, next error was thrown:
Internal error.
Oops! Looks like something went wrong!

User canceled the Dialog flow
Wish you all the best and good luck!

You can fake your location in f.lux, or you can just adjust f.lux manually.
This probably won't be added because most users don't really live at their computer like this. Most people use their computer on occasion, not for hours upon hours per day. Those of us who do live at their computer (that would be me) are the exception. We're not common. So, it might not be worth the time it would take to try and figure out how to get f.lux to do that.
Also, consider this: even though I live at my computer, there are times each day where I go do something else away from my computer for a while, and so I turn it off.

This exists. There's a link on the lower-right corner of the UI that says "f.lux support". Click it and you'll see.

How do you know for sure this was caused by f.lux?

Hi,
This probably won't be added because most users don't really live at their computer like this. Most people use their computer on occasion, > not for hours upon hours per day. Those of us who do live at their computer (that would be me) are the exception. We're not common. So, it might not be worth the time it would take to try and figure out how to get f.lux to do that.
Yeah, I understand that there are difficulties in determining the real state of the user. But just as a raw idea, it may be can be used somewhere. For instance, activities like power on\power off can be logged, and then preliminary event times can be calculated.
But anyway, it is up to developers, currently f.lux does good. This exists. There's a link on the lower-right corner of the UI that says "f.lux support". Click it and you'll see.
Yes, I see. But that link pointed me questions\answers section. Page states:
Search our list of questions first, and if you don't find what you need, head over to our forum.
I mean a window where user can write a feedback quickly, .e.g. text-form with let`s say 500 symbols and e-mail field.
Add: but, for the sake of justice, there is a way to write directly to e-mail:Want to contact us? Email support@justgetflux.com.
So next point:
How do you know for sure this was caused by f.lux?
It is not caused by f.lux in any way. It is a issue probably with backend authorization module from facebook here, on the forum.
Technically, f.lux and forum are not connected in any way.Just saw an error and posted about it :)
