F.lux auto disables when playing full screen games?

The issue I'm facing which so many other people are facing is that when I play any full screen games at night like The Sims 4 for instance, F.lux disables itself meaning the screen becomes normal and when I exit the game the screen gets warm again. What seems to be the problem? Overall this means that f.lux helps me sleep better but not when I'm playing full screen games at night like Team Fortress 2, The Sims 4, CS - GO etc. This is not useful. Please fix that bug if it is a bug..

It doesn't disable itself. Some games just don't allow things like f.lux to make changes (the game forces itself over everything else). This is done by the game developer, and so there is absolutely nothing we can do about it. It's hard-coded into the game to do this. It's not doing anything to f.lux; it's just overriding it.

Yeah, I have the same problem. :(
Sometimes though I am successful with just turning the computer off and sitting in silence with dim light for like a half an hour. Sometimes I'll even fall asleep in my chair for a couple of minutes during that time.
I'm not successful with winding down calmly like that every day though. Maybe once a month. Right now, I tend to end my day with very stimulating things because my only other option is to just sit here quietly doing absolutely nothing except letting my mind wander randomly.

I actually like it this way. Wouldn't want to have to disable f.lux every time I go off to play a game haha. Then again, I don't play them at night.

@japongt You can set games to run in windowed mode at night to use f.lux. Then put it back to fullscreen in the daytime.
This (fullscreen) usually gives better performance and when you minimize the game, the GPU doesn't process the game so less power used and the card gets to cool.

That doesn't work for all games.

@TwoCables What part, the cool down when minimized or the follow desktop gamma part? I'm very certain on the windowed mode part, that's never given me trouble.

It's just as I said: with some games, switching to Windowed Mode doesn't make any difference; the game still overrides it. There's nothing more I need to say. With some games this works, and with others it doesn't. There is no guarantee. I have some games where f.lux is still overridden with the game in Windowed Mode. You just can't avoid it sometimes.

@TwoCables I actually agree, before I tried using f.lux in windowed mode, and I didn't see much of a difference. Yes I agree, the game overrides it and that is very annoying especially as I do lots of gaming at night. I had to stop and do it at the daytime instead.

It's not just one game. Should I go through my entire library of games and list the ones that still override f.lux in full-screen mode? I can do that, but it might take me a long time.
Seriously, it doesn't work for all games. The best way to recommend it is, "try it and see if it works." You can't say that it works for all games because it doesn't.

Games that use desktop gamma in windowed mode:
- Rocket League
- World of Tanks
- Wow
- Halo Custom / Combat
- World of Goo
- Audiosurf
- Race the Sun
- Flat out 2 (and others)
- Dirt 2 (and others)
- Crysis
- FarCry
- Titan game (EA)
- Need For Speed 2010 and Shift.
- Any Valve game
Etc.
I'm very interested to learn what games don't use desktop color when windowed.

I'm not going to do that. I have way too many games to do it. Besides, I don't need to go through it. It's not like I have a reputation for lying or for making stuff up.
I also don't see how it's going to help to learn what games still override f.lux in Windowed Mode. The whole point is, some games still override it, so you can't just say that it works for ALL games.

If you want to play CS:GO while f.lux is on you will have to Windowed Fullscreen it is gonna trick the game that you're playing windowed but you're playing fullscreen

No, I don't make stuff up. I state facts as I know them. What you're experiencing here has absolutely nothing to do with anything I have ever said. I am just another user. I don't appreciate that you are blaming me for this problem. What do you want me to do or say about it? Talk to the developer. Don't blame your fellow users. I find your post to be in very poor taste and I take it as a personal attack that isn't justified in the least bit.
I'd love to help you fix the problem, but all I would be able to do is tell you to make sure "Disable for full screen apps" is not enabled, and I can't imagine you haven't tried this already.
Don't fire back another rude or offensive post because again, I'm just another f.lux user. Don't hold me responsible for any problems you're experiencing. Ok?
