I love f.lux but it doesn't run at startup; or will not update

2 Dell PC's, laptop/desktop, both running Windows 7. Laptop runs f.lux at startup and prompts to update--- but update repeatedly fails to open. Desktop f.lux requres manual start and has never prompted for an update... Great program otherwise, thanks
