Feature Request: Custom times
-
I'd like to be able to set a custom time for f.lux to start and stop. I work nightshift, and having my phone start going orange in the middle of my shift is irritating. Only thing I've been able to do so far is manually enable f.lux when I get home from work, and then disable it when I wake up. Even then, it jumps straight to darkest setting, skipping the slow fade it does for someone on a normal sleep schedule.

+1 for this, and also custom location setting.

@lightmaster when do you wake up? You should be able to set that, and ideally you'd have your schedule to wake up at night, and sleep during the day, and have black out curtains.
It's a great idea to start turning on some really bright lights when you wake up, if you need to, buy some really bright lights. You'll be more alert, and safer when you're working.

@Tungsten_smooth I wake up about noon. And I can set the wake up time, however it still starts dimming at sunset which is about 2 hours into my work day. Need an option to set the start and end time.

@lightmaster O.K., try the following: Set sunset to moonlight (4100K) and set bedtime to 2700K or lower. I think that's closer to what you're looking for.
-
@Tungsten_smooth Sunset doesn't have an option for Moonlight or the 4700k. I'm thinking about trying to figure out a location that would have sunset/night closer to my schedule as a temp solution.
-
@lightmaster Is there a "fluorescent" setting? I wish it was called moonlight, but it's not. This is a lighter color than halogen or incandescent, so it should be a smoother transition.
-
@Tungsten_smooth The problem isn't the transition itself, but that it starts changing around sunset, which is at the beginning of my day. I work from 5pm to 5am, so I need it to start changing around 5am and go back to normal around noon.
