Just wondered if there might be light at the end of the tunnel for f.lux…
MacRumors: Apple Approves 'FlexBright' iOS App That Adjusts Display Temperature - Mac Rumors
Developer website: FlexBright

They've been pulled from the app store.
-
@lorna DAMN! This is getting ... well, you know who's in control here. That's too much.
-
@Tungsten_smooth I don't think anyone outside the Aluminum Curtain has the whole story.
-
@lorna was it a paid app, or maybe it involved strange advertising. I should probably realize it's not because it's just controlling brightness. Good point.
-
It was a paid app.

Last week the developer was saying that he worked closely with Apple, this week he's saying Apple said a bunch of other stuff. Apple seems to not be saying anything. I guess it is up to you what you think is the real story. http://www.macrumors.com/2016/03/09/apps-adjusting-display-temperature-not-allowed/

@lorna I think Apple pulled it because it did one terrible job! It's GREEN. The viewing angles on an IPS screen don't vary the color that much, so this app is terrible. I say good for Apple!

@Tungsten_smooth While that may be true, pulling an app because its weak is worse than the current situation.
