Disable while certain programs are running?
-
It would be nice to have the option to disable Flux while certain programs like VLC media player or Photoshop are active(if at all possible), it can be quite bothersome when you have to disable it every hour. I'm curious to see what your opinions are on this, Thanks.

Yes it is done for the Mac - it took us a long time to get the timing right!
This feature will be in a future version for Windows too. -
Hi was wondering if it's possible to lower the performance used by the app.
Like make users choose an allocation to how much resources to allow the app to consume, so PC won't crash Alienware 17x having issue.
Working in Mudbox, or Maya having 3 million polygons on screen and the light adjusting itself = graphic card death approaches.
Something to avoid make lighter app? :) -
Just registered to follow this. It's a very important feature, to have the ability to disable f.lux when some specific programs are running.
-
Anyone know if there is an update to this. This is a feature I would really love to see implemented!
-
I just registered to post about this feature request as well... and saw this post.
I'm a photographer and just processed a dozen photos in Photoshop. Then I realized that f.lux was running. Ack! Of course that meant all my color corrections were WAY off when I disables f.lux.
If f.lux could detect and automatically disable when programs like adobe products are running, or even add custom programs.
...and/or add a check box in the settings to popup an "f.lux active" alert when a user runs a program like photoshop.

I cast video games a LOT on my Twitch channel. Thing is, I use a 2nd computer to capture my main monitor via a capture card, and this picks up the color for f.lux whenever I'm using it. It also means anyone watching sees that my video is yellow if I cast in the evenings, which I often do.
Being able to have f.lux automatically disable for specific programs, or for any fullscreen video game application, would be awesome. I want to use f.lux, but the fact that it messes up how my cast looks means I'm rather unwilling to at the moment.

Would this feature allow you to disable it for specific monitors?
And is there an ETA on this? It would make f.lux a 1000x better for me.

Life-saving feature on the mac --- love it.
Now, I'm in an office again, and it's a PC! Thus, I love my flux, but sometimes it gives me an OOPS moment....
Patiently awaiting this feature's arrival on the windoze!!

Please add this feature so i can use flux again. Tired of ruining photo editing sessions with flux on.
-
Second this, I love f.lux, I've been it using for ages on iOS, Mac and Windows and thanks to the developers so much since this is 100% free to use, but I feel this is really something that should be added. I've resorted to not using f.lux anymore on my work computer after the 90th editing session with f.lux on.
Yeah, I'm dumb, please save me! -
@herf How do you do this for Mac?
-
Sorry to resuscitate this old post, but is there any update for this? I'm sure it's still a feature lots of people want.
Also, to people frustrated with flux running during creative programs and completely giving up on f.lux: It's not a huge step to right-click the taskbar icon and check "disable for an hour" or "disable until sunrise" if you're working for a long time -- you just have to remember to turn it back on (or left-click then check the box next to "disable for an hour" or left-click taskbar, left-click three lines in top-right corner, left-click "disable until sunrise"). I think the good f.lux does for your health is more than worth it.
Maybe a compromise if this is too difficult to implement would be to allow us to change the amount of time it is disabled from 1 hour to however many hours we want in the settings?

Yes, we need this feature, registeres just so I could reply here

This is a much needed feature. BUMP Not sure it this is possible, but also if I could disable while certain webpages are open?
-
Created an account here just to support this, Windows users really need this, especially for gaming and editing.
-
I support this idea too !!
-
Really would love to see this option!
-
Yes will be in the next version, soon.

@herf woo, finally :D
