Single Monitor Restriction for a Dual Monitor Setup

I have the same uses cases has the other people,
- Laptop screen with f.lux + TV without it,
- Laptop screen with f.lux + Old monitor without it
- 3 monitor setup, middle monitor without f.lux when gaming
I guess a per app setting would cover most of the use cases for the majority of people.
In my case, I would prefer a per monitor setting but with a per app setting, I could workaround this without any problem.Thanks for the good work guys !

Forget any updates at this point. The app hasn't seem any updates for more then a year and likely never will. I've contacted another developer on a similar app and they said that it's highly complicated to make it work separately on multiple monitors. I understand this is freeware so this is what you get.
There are plenty of alternatives out there but I haven't tried them all but so far, the 3-4 I've tried does not have this feature as well. I'm not a developer so I have no idea the technical aspects of making separate settings but I would guess it's a lot of work and hence why many other similar programs don't have this feature as well.

@lorna ignore that guy. is your team working on this feature? with my setup where I work and watch movies on separate monitors on the same machine would love to have this.

I just downloaded your application and it is a very good improvement. I am using a similar app on my android device.
I am also voting for having a dual monitor setup. I work at home and use my laptop 17" display and my 27" Benq display. Sometimes I would like to have only the laptop display changed and sometimes both monitors to be changed by f.lux.I will contribute to f.lux even if this feature is not implemented, but I will contribute again when it is implemented.

Also registered to add my vote for independent settings on dual displays. I like to stream music visualizers & videos via HDMI from my laptop to my TV while I write. It'd be great to have the option to disable or use movie mode on the big display several feet away while f.lux still does its usual thing on the display closest to my eyes.

Adding yet another voice to the chorus here. I have a Mac Mini that drives a monitor for iTunes and web-browsing, and also a projector which is our living-room "TV". I just discovered f.lux and I love, love, love it on all of my computers, and I'd love to use it to control the color of the Mini's monitor, without impacting the color of the projector.
Unfortunately, I can't use the per-app interface as the two apps I most often use on the monitor to control music and web-browsing--iTunes and Chrome--are also the same two apps I'm likely to use to play media on the projector.

+1 for adding multi monitor support to have seperate options for each monitor.. i would even pay for it if this was done.up till now both my monitors(built in monitor for laptop, and external) had way too much blue, and needed flux on both of them.
now with my new BENQ eyecare monitor, i only need flux on my main screen (laptop screen) and if i run it on both monitors it ruins the BENQ external monitors good view.please consider!

Same here, i registered just to add my vote. As I work a lot on a stage and spend a lot of time in the dark doing video projections, I'd like to have Flux on my monitors but not on the video projectors I use at the same time. It would be much much less tiring for my eyes.

I just signed up to bump this thread. I also want the ability to use my first monitor with flux, and my second screen (which happens to be my Samsung TV connected via HDMI) without flux. I hope this feature can be included ASAP!

I'd like to have an option for flux to run on a per screen basis. I'd like my full screen games to be clear and colour accurate while youtube or anything on my second monitor is still easy on the eyes at night. If I disable flux for rocket league, then the other monitor is blinding while im playing. Also a lot of colour changes during alt tabs.

Jesus, why is this not a feature already?
I have two screens, and the one has a blue-light glare, whereas the other one has warmer colours. I need to use Flux on the one with the blue light, but that turns the other screen almost brown in comparison. Settings per screen shoul really be a thing.

I use two monitors and love f.lux but often can't use it as I create colour sensitive artwork.
Being able to disable f.lux on my primary monitor but keep it on my secondary would be truly amazing.However, I did notice that when I played a certain game (Starcraft 2) that f.lux was disabled on the one monitor only(happy accident)!
It would be equally amazing to be able to have a control option where you can tell f.lux disable itself when a certain program appears.I understand since it's a free program you can't go full blown dev on it, however, these are features I'd happily pay for.

One of my monitor is an e-ink display, so when flux is enabled, the eink monitor is covered with a grey background. I have to disable flux to use the eink display
would love to see this feature to be added into f.lux. Also, this is the feature i'd be happy to pay for

@frankang that is a new case for us, thanks - a reason for sure a good reason to do this.
To sum up how we're thinking about the other cases, there are basically two:
- "My monitors aren't calibrated and I want f.lux to calibrate them."
- We might add color calibration controls in the future, but this isn't what f.lux does right now. Any ICM file with a VCGT tag will be read and loaded by f.lux, and this is still by far the best way to calibrate. Other utilities can make this kind of profile. In any case, disabling f.lux for one display is not a good way to make the displays look the same.
- "I usually display dark content (like movies or even photoshop) on one display and bright content (like webpages) on another."
- We think f.lux should be smart enough to solve this automatically, without having to assign monitors to fixed roles, but we have more to do here, and it's an important case. And yes some people DO have external TVs that always do the same thing.
For #2 we have added "disable for fullscreen apps" that covers more than half of the cases people have mentioned, but there is more to do here, and our goal is to make it automatic and configurable.

@herf my previous issue with "disable for fullscreen apps" is that it would disable flux on both monitors. But it doesnt seem to be an issue anymore. Does flux need to be continually updated to support new fullscreen apps properly, or was it likely a one-time issue?

@DudeWithTheNose as far as I know, the Windows version of the feature has always worked this way. Maybe an early version had some bugs...

Currently, if I set to disable for full screen apps or a specific app it does it to both monitors.
Can you just include an option to run f.lux on the secondary monitor only? That would be an easy solution.
Really like f.lux but find that I can't use it most of the time as i'm working in an app that requires me to see proper colours.
