Point of view

  • Hi, I'm using an HP Envy notebook PC and when using f.lux I realized that, when looking at my screen from a higher angle than the screen is pointing, the light is actually more blue. There is an opposite effect for when looking at a lower angle than the screen is pointing, making the light more red.

  • Yep that's a TN panel.

You'll want a laptop with a DC controlled non pwm (pulse width modulation) display.

  • Is there anything I can do to make this not happen, or am I out of luck?

  • Well you could connect to an external monitor and see if it's better.

Also I forgot to inform you that you'll want IPS in plane switching for the best viewing angles.

  • This is normal, and the only way to not see it quite so much is to get a better display.
