      Hello,
I installed f.lux for windows and have been very happy with it. My children were on my computer and adjusted the lighting for day and night, however now everything looks harsh. Is there a reset? Should I un-install and re-install? Should I beat my kids?!! Please kindly advice as I cant seem to get it back to normal.

      Thanks!

lol "should I beat my kids??!!" Damn kids! Leave my computer alone! Maybe your wallpaper needs to be a pic of yourself that they do NOT want to see, like maybe naked or mostly-naked. Maybe that will keep them off it. :) "Hey kids, guess what! I have an awesome new new wallpaper! Check it out!"

Anyway, so what exactly do you mean by "harsh"? Can you elaborate? Does the harshness go away if you slide both of the color temperature sliders left and right all the way? What I mean is, take the 'Daytime' slider and move it all the way left and all the way right and then do the same for the 'At night' slider. Is there any point while sliding where you see exactly what you had before they messed with it? Note: When you move the 'At night' slider all the way to the left, f.lux might ask you if you want to expand the full color range. To be honest, I would say yes! Being able to go all the way down to 2700K is nice, even though that's actually still too blue for using just before bedtime (I actually use and prefer 1200K just before bed).

Unfortunately, there's no way to instantly reset f.lux back to the way you had it because there are no ways to save your settings or anything like that. That means that any adjustments made result in the old settings being lost, so to speak (f.lux is a very simple program).

Let me know what you find after moving both sliders all the way to the left and then all the way to the right (you'd do it one at a time, of course). We'll get this back to the way you had it!

Just to start, try 6500K for daylight and 2300K for night time. Our kids love to play with f.lux settings "I MADE ORANGE! I MADE BLUE!"
