What to think of Ambient light in Cyanogen 12.1 ?

Hi, with lollipop 5.1, Cyanogen has introduced a new feature called ambientlight to make the screen less blue at night. Any insight on the efficiency of this program in particular ? It does seem better than twilight at first sight but would love to have a confirmation from a professional
