It's hard to have common knowledge about light and spectrum because it's out of reach for day to day use because of the price tag... we are working on a way to measure light spectrum very accurately with $400 hardware. And (somewhat less accurately) on your phone. We can't wait to get all of these projects out in the world.

I'd like to know as well. I'm sure most of it was a really expensive spectrometer, the team has. They even have one in their vehicle that they can roll under streetlights and measure!!
