@smsmasters Thank your reply! However it seems that 0.9984 need iOS < 9, how do you even make that possible?

      ?

Yep I noticed that too, really going to be a pain. If someone knows a workaround it would be very welcome.

Edit - Confirmed by someone on stack overflow that Apple have changed the time limits, so I don't think there is going to be a way around this http://stackoverflow.com/questions/36998956/why-does-my-free-xcode-provisioning-profile-only-last-7-days

      ?

so after finding the original f.lux side load files randomly online, It's working fine. I guess i must have messed things up in Xcode with my version. Find the original download and hope that works!

      Hi Tungsten_smooth! :)

My other health problems aren't eye related. I have joint hypermobility syndrome which means, for example, I can easily sprain my wrist brushing my teeth if I'm not careful. It affects my finger joints too so using a keyboard and mouse is a recipe for disaster lol. xD

I had not thought about my room lighting. I usually sit in my lounge when I'm on my phone. The lights are quite dim. A soft yellowish glow.

I had planned to purchase a new phone this year. I will definitely look into purchasing an iPad instead. The few times I've used one before, I got eye strain really quickly. I will use it a further distance + add some blue light defence. 8^) Thank you.

Agreed .. sometime i want to stop f.lux .. so its long to open the app and turn it off .. its much better if there is an android widget to turn f.lux on/off .

Oh I know that there are many who really do care quite deeply, but you're the only ones making software like this who care. That's what I mean. You care about making the software do things in such a way that are extremely effective.

@chris99 There is no public jailbreak for iOS 9.3/9.3.1 available. taig9.com is a scam site. taig.com is the real site of the taig team and there is no iOS 9.3 jailbreak available. You probably have installed some backdoor/virus etc. and should restore your ipad via iTunes.

      ?

      Hi,

the sideload version of f.lux which was installed using Xcode is no longer available due to Apple's objections. The only option as I understand is to jailbreak your device and load the version of f.lux which is found on the cydia app store. Sorry I can't point you to instructions for that, it's not something I've done.

I really don't want to root or jailbreak Android or iOS devices. Not commenting on Android, I find it very annoying Apple does not provide a version for older iOS devices such as my gf's iPad Mini or my mother's iPad. I knew about blue light problem, but I didn't know about F.lux until recently. Now that I know about the problem and solution, the solution does not work! I know the F.lux developers are not at fault here. Still, having to upgrade perfectly working older iPhone, iPad, and iPad Mini which each cost several hundred of EUR just to get rid of the blue light problem is... well, ridiculous. Apple claims they only give the 64 bit versions running iOS their implementation (Night Shift) because on 32 bit it would come at a performance/battery loss. Well, I know these people would take that loss for granted for the benefit they get. They're fine making that choice themselves. So it feels to me like some kind of way to give their newer devices a more premium feeling with magic "blue light fix".

iOS > background app refresh needs to be 'on' in able to let f.lux automatically change the colour. So the app needs to be active at all times, you can't close down the app. As far as I understand, the notifications need to be on aswell. Location services can be off. Can confirm this with my iPhone 5.
