I have the same question, I don't understand why they haven't already make it functionnal without root needed. Many competitors are on mobile game now and none of the heavyweight oblige user to root his device. f.lux is leader on blue light filter (on PC) in my point of view, he could make himself a place on mobile game, but this root needed stop f.lux to overcome concurrency.

Hey, this might not be any help, but I thought I'd post to bump your thread as I was trying to achieve something similar.

I'm using a Google nexus 5 and whenever I try and use the phone's own invert colours toggle, either flux turns off, or the colour invert turns off in a conflict between the two.

It would be great if there was a way to have both on at once. I had just been using flux's Darkroom mode all the time which turns everything greyscale, then inverts colours, then the colour temperature to red, which is not quite an ideal solution.

What OS are you using? I stopped using flux because lucky for me lineageOS has a settings menu called live display where you can set the screen's colour temperature same as in flux. That plays nice with the invert colours and greyscale settings, as all of them run through the OS and don't compete for priority.

If I hadn't found that I'd still be in the same boat though.

I’m looking for a solution to using my TV with blue light filtering. Running from my PC works but is a horrible solution, what I really want is a box like the nVidia Shield or Xiaomi Mi Box.

Is it possible to install f.lux on this kind of device by rooting Android TV? Apparently the Shield is very root friendly with nVidia even supplying the means to do so, but I don’t know if that will get me access to the Play store and if f.lux would work if I got it installed.

Oh yeah I know that the app Twilight is on Android TV but I don’t really want to buy a 200quid box just to have my blacks turned red.
